Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
  • Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional information about patient medical history as necessary.
  • Analyze anatomical structures of patients, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
  • Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
  • Administer intravenous contrast media, including utilization of power injectors.
  • Assist radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures, such as biopsies.
  • Perform all imaging procedures by demonstrating principles of radiation protection, including shielding of patients, selection of appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose, and utilization of other ALARA techniques.
  • Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, including viewing of images into PACS and confirming image/series counts.
  • Complete study indexing, including study begin, study end, and completion of the study in the Radiology Information System.
  • Review and confirm clinical protocols with radiologists before performing studies.
  • Document all necessary information in the medical record and within the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry eligibility required. Registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire.
  • Maintenance of required hours of continued education.
  • Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
