Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Parent's Night Out Leader to join our team at the Young Men's Christian Association of Wichita Kansas. As a Parent's Night Out Leader, you will be responsible for providing a safe, healthy, and fun-filled experience for children enrolled in our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build effective relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and staff
  • Supervise and lead program participants in accordance with YMCA guidelines
  • Prepare and execute lesson plans to ensure a positive and engaging experience for all participants
  • Convey information on youth and family programs and schedules, and refer students and parents to other programs as needed
  • Gather feedback from members and share with supervisor to improve service
  • Complete daily cleaning duties and additional tasks as deemed necessary
  • Set up and clean up program area, and report any facility or equipment irregularities to supervisor
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by following and enforcing all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Minimum one-year relevant experience working with children
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activities, including climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds
  • High level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, and desire to work with all ages, especially children
  • Problem-solving, organizational, and task management skills, with ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
  • Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values
Working Conditions

This position requires working a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch, including weekends and evenings. The Parent's Night Out Leader must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to present a neat and professional appearance at all times.

The successful candidate will be required to attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire, and will be expected to complete CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen training in accordance with Conditions of Employment.
