Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN), Substance Use Services

Mental Health Cooperative is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing low-threshold buprenorphine treatment to consumers. As a key member of our medical operations team, you will work closely with licensed physicians and advanced practice nurses to provide high-quality care to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments and prepare consumers for clinic visits
  • Interpret and implement provider orders
  • Screen for substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms
  • Analyze and interpret UDS and pregnancy test results
  • Advocate for consumers and participate in ongoing evaluation of consumer progress
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date consumer records
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Provide health education and advocacy to consumers and their community supports
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner
  • Proficient in electronic health records
  • Conduct assessments with consumers in the community to provide continuity of care
  • Provide nursing coverage for other clinic locations and departments as needed
  • Participate in ongoing internal training to increase confidence in emergency medicine and crisis skills
  • Work collaboratively with community providers to complete community referrals and necessary documentation
  • Comply with applicable regulations, laws, rules, and policies
  • Use de-escalation techniques to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations
  • Obtain releases from PCPs, specialists, and other treatment facilities as needed
  • Complete prior authorizations and attestations for treatment medications
  • Perform rescue functions during emergencies, including administering basic emergency medical aid and evacuating individuals to safe locations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in labs, injections, glucometer, UDS testing, and pregnancy testing
  • Remain flexible and positive in response to changing needs
  • Follow up with consumers regarding lab results
  • Make customer service a priority with internal and external customers
  • Establish rapport with consumers
  • Access and assist with determining the readiness of individuals for treatment and change
Requirements:
  • Valid Tennessee Registered Nurse license
  • Phlebotomy skills and ability to give injections
  • Cross-training in all areas of medical operations
  • Valid Tennessee Driver's License
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation
