We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Springhurst Animal Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and superior client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver High-Quality Patient Care: Utilize your technical skills to provide compassionate nursing care to patients, including diagnostic sample collection, catheter placement, venipuncture, radiography, dental radiology, and prophylactic cleanings.
  • Support Veterinarians: Collaborate with veterinarians to ensure exceptional veterinary care during preventative, injury, and illness visits.
  • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients and educate clients on their care and treatment.
  • Assist with Procedures: Assist with patient procedures and surgeries, including anesthetic induction and monitoring, pre and post-operative patient care, surgical suite, instrument, and equipment care.
  • Documentation and Communication: Obtain health history from clients and ensure accurate and complete documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Team Support: Willingly guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
  • Professional Development: Constantly advance your knowledge base and skill set.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a small animal clinical setting as a technician/assistant.
  • Technical Knowledge: Superior technical knowledge and skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with clients and team members.
  • Time Management: Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Teamwork: Enthusiastic team player with a patient and positive professional attitude.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds, and work on feet most of the day.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changes in the environment and handle stress in a calm manner.
