Job Title: Hotel Bartender

The Aloft Savannah Airport is seeking a highly skilled and charismatic Bartender to join our team. As a Bartender, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the sanitation of the bar, kitchen, and food preparation areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Follow safe food handling and service practices at all times to prevent contamination and ensure guest safety.
  • Collaborate with the food and beverage supervisor and sales staff to provide seamless service to meeting rooms, events, and catering needs.
  • Identify and correct any hazards during your shift to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collect and clean dirty dishes and glasses during your shift to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Follow all Lexima/Brand safety practices, including wearing personal protective equipment, reading chemical warning labels, and adhering to safe work practices.
  • Set up and break down both bar and food service areas to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Present food in accordance with Lexima/Brand standards to ensure a high-quality guest experience.
  • Be attentive at the bar and check with guests frequently to ensure their needs are met.
  • Handle meeting room catering needs and communicate with the contact person to ensure seamless service.
  • Operate juice and milk machines, commercial refrigerators and freezers, commercial dishwasher, and vacuum cleaner safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain the kitchen in an orderly and clean fashion to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Wash dirty dishes as soon as possible to prevent contamination and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Restock necessary items during service hours to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Monitor food and bar inventories and maintain appropriate levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Comply with Lexima/Brand compliance standards and regulations at all times to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Participate in all-employee meetings, events, and other functions required by management to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Process guest payments and follow cash handling procedures to ensure accurate and secure transactions.
  • Be familiar with all policies, hotel rules, and hotel terminology to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Attend meetings as required by management to stay informed and up-to-date on hotel operations and policies.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Shifts will vary depending on events around the area and through the hotel.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • A food handling certificate is required in states or counties where necessary.
  • TIPS training is preferred, and training will be provided.
  • Previous bartending experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in cashier duties is preferred.
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety is essential.
  • Patience and a customer-oriented approach are necessary to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude are required to provide a positive guest experience.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • The ability to understand and follow directions, guidelines, and work objectives as set forth by the Director of Guest Services, Director of Sales, and/or General Manager is essential.
  • The ability to understand potential hazards and subsequent procedures involved in working around commercial chemical agents is necessary.
  • The ability to self-supervise and manage time effectively to complete required work within a specified timeframe is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and push and/or pull approximately 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The ability to stand during the entire 8-hour shift is required.
