About the Position

Palo Verde Community College District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Human Resources to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our Human Resources department, ensuring that we maintain a positive and inclusive work environment that supports the success of our students and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Human Resources strategies and programs to support the college's mission and goals.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Human Resources department, including supervising and evaluating staff.
  • Collaborate with college administrators, faculty, and staff to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Develop and implement training programs to support employee development and retention.
  • Manage and coordinate the college's benefits program, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on Human Resources-related issues, including employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the college's leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful Human Resources strategies and programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
