Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ESL Teacher to join our team at the Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter School. As an ESL Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of our students who are English language learners.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement standards-aligned courses and curricular units that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Lead a classroom that fosters a culture of achievement, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth.
  • Provide regular feedback to students to strengthen their mastery of learning targets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver instruction that meets the individual needs of students with diverse learning needs.
  • Mentor students through regular advisory meetings and family meetings.
  • Develop strong relationships with families through regular communication.
  • Participate in professional development to continually strengthen teaching and learning practices.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Teachers must be certified or licensed to teach in Massachusetts or have passed the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL).
  • SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement is required or must be completed within the first year of employment.
  • Expertise in and enthusiasm for content area(s) are essential.
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience in a charter or district school setting serving a similar demographic is preferred.
