Pharmacy Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Novant Health. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in delivering optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.
Key Responsibilities- Process, prepare, and fill prescriptions in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform non-sterile compounding and repackaging of medications
- Answer and screen telephone calls, referring calls to a pharmacist when necessary
- Use point-of-sale systems to support customer service needs
- Support the shipping of medications by preparing supplies and ensuring ice packs are restocked
- Package, ship, and track all packages to ensure timely delivery and medication integrity
- Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and software
- Process prescriptions in a timely order and manner to best meet patient needs
- Receive and accurately transcribe orders from prescribers under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Utilize the EPIC/Patient Management system to review and process prescription information
- Thoroughly document patient encounters via the EPIC/Patient Management system to meet accreditation standards
- Assist with training new employees, educating them in job-specific functions
- Purchasing duties and support inventory management
- High School Diploma or GED, required; 2-year/Associate Degree, preferred
- Acute experience: minimum of two pharmacy skills, required; or hired as a Pharmacy Technician 1 Certified and now competently performing a second pharmacy skill, required
- Outpatient Oncology experience: minimum of two years, required; with one year of experience in sterile compounding, required
- Specialty Pharmacy experience: minimum of two years, required; with one year in specialty setting, preferred
- Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of pharmacy, required
- PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire, or proof of enrollment in pharmacy school/FPEGG/FPGEC, required
- A minimum of one relevant specialized certificate/certification from an approved vendor, required
