Position: Remote Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Shift: Varies
Job Schedule: PRN
Weekly Hours: Varies
Compensation: $36.00 per hour
Department Highlights:
- Support multiple locations within a 150-mile radius of your home
- Mileage reimbursement available
- Additional $5 per hour for float assignments
- Weekend shift differential of $1.25 per hour
- Evening/night shift differential of $1.25 per hour for shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Minimum of 24 hours of work required per month
- At least one weekend rotation per month is necessary
- 3 months of prior experience in Long Term Care is required; 6 months preferred
- No contract obligation
The Good Samaritan Society is looking for a dedicated and flexible Licensed Practical Nurse to fulfill the role of a Travel LPN. This position allows for local travel to various GSS facilities within a 150-mile radius, providing essential care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, and flexibility without a contract requirement.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of nursing principles applicable to residents in diverse clinical settings. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
- Contributing to resident assessments and administering prescribed medications or treatments.
- Providing technical support to healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes effectively.
- Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the community.
- Communicating clearly while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Counseling residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans under the guidance of a registered nurse or physician.
- Developing self-care programs based on resident education principles.
- Performing additional related duties as assigned.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited practical nursing program and hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
If the position requires IV therapy skills, candidates must have graduated from a Board-approved AASPN program or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
Candidates should have completed a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience or possess a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility.
The successful candidate will maintain required competencies and certifications, complete annual continuing education units (CEUs), and fulfill competency training requirements.
