Budget Analyst II Role Overview

The Budget Analyst II performs a variety of intermediate accounting and budgetary activities as they relate to specific staffing and training programs within the Foreign Affairs Training Center (FASTC). This role requires a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills to advise customers on financial matters and analyze budgets and financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial guidance to customers and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to inform budget decisions.
  • Develop and maintain budgeting databases and financial reports.
  • Monitor operational budgets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Process invoices for payment and maintain accurate financial records.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of relevant experience or two years with a Master's degree.
  • Two years of experience as a Budget Analyst I or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Department of State experience.
  • Knowledge of appropriations law.
  • Experience working with databases and Microsoft applications.
Security Clearance:
  • Possess or be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Work Environment:

Office environment.
