About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our estimating team as an Estimating Assistant. In this role, you will play a critical part in coordinating contract documents from original estimate to job start-up, ensuring that Granite is a responsive bidder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to estimating staff with bid preparation and job startup, utilizing thorough knowledge of terminology, procedures, and practices to ensure needs are met.
  • Coordinate all MBE/WBE/DBE/UDBE to ensure diverse representation of subcontractors on all bid submittals.
  • Maintain bid lists and bid packets to ensure timely and accurate bid submissions.
  • Establish processing and documentation to ensure good faith efforts and project advertising requirements are met.
  • Process bid documents from agencies/owners for the business unit to ensure accurate bid submissions.
  • Assemble bid packets, track documents, and type correspondence to ensure all necessary documentation and communication is accurate and timely.
  • Perform various administrative and office support functions to ensure the daily operations of the department run efficiently.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years in the Construction industry with basic understanding of the bidding process and public agency requirements.
  • Notary Public preferred.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • JD Edwards experience a plus.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to operate with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, phone, and grammar skills.
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

We provide a 100% match on the first 6% of eligible compensation that salaried employees defer into their 401(k) plans, which vests immediately.

Base Salary Range

$62, $94,243.00. Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
