Career Opportunity for a Phlebotomist at CSL Plasma

• Collect plasma from donors by performing venipuncture and monitoring the pheresis process
• Ensure efficient and effective donation process, making adjustments as needed to make the experience positive for the donor
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma
• Explain the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, and center policies to donors
• Maintain alertness to any reaction by donors and assist with reactions or notify appropriate staff
• Use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents during the pheresis process
• Perform calibrations and verify maintenance as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and create incident documentation
• Monitor donor flow on the donor floor to ensure continuous turnover
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues
• Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred
• Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation
• Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time
• Reach, bend, kneel, and have high level of manual dexterity
• Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
