**Job Summary**

The Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician at Health First is responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves performing regular scheduled disinfection on water and dialysis equipment, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring patient safety.

**Key Responsibilities**

  1. Report and document all new and unusual incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN.
  2. Support Health First's commitment to Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAI) activities by promoting a safe and clean working environment.
  3. Utilize organizational values to guide a prompt and professional response to every customer request.
  4. Set up and prime equipment as directed by the RN for renal replacement therapies.
  5. Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their well-being since their last treatment.
  6. Evaluate vascular access for patency and report any unusual findings to the RN.
  7. Obtain necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight.
  8. Perform vascular access cannulation and report any difficulties or unusual findings to the RN.
  9. Calculate and enter individual patients' dialysis machine programming.
  10. Ensure appropriate safety alarms are enabled.
  11. Accurately and timely record information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters.
  12. Initiate hemodialysis treatment according to prescribed orders.
  13. Collect, label, and ensure timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
  14. Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed.
  15. Monitor patient's response to dialysis therapy and report any unusual findings to the RN.
  16. Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion and perform all relevant functions necessary for treatment discontinuation.
  17. Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status.
  18. Evaluate patient's vascular access during treatment and provide appropriate intervention as needed.
  19. Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures.
  20. Evaluate patient's heart rate and blood pressures prior to termination of venous access.
  21. Evaluate the patient prior to discharge and report any unusual findings to the RN.
  22. Utilize Health First's computer system for order management and patient documentation.
  23. Demonstrate personal accountability for economically using supplies and caring for equipment.
  24. Demonstrate a basic understanding of LEAN principles and engage in activities to reduce waste or improve processes.
  25. Contribute to unit productivity by demonstrating good planning, organization, and time management.
