Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team at Waverly Health Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional mental health services.

• Assess patients in clinic and/or hospital settings, conducting comprehensive physical examinations and taking thorough medical histories.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescription of psychotropic medications, to address patients' mental health needs.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, mental health therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing education and support to promote healthy behaviors and outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date with current medical knowledge and best practices, participating in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and expertise.

• Current licensure as a Physician in the State of Iowa, with DEA registration and State of Iowa Controlled Substances Act registration.
• Board Certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
• Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited post-graduate training program in Psychiatry.
• Acceptance for Medical Staff membership.
• Ability to possess professional liability insurance and remain current in educational training and credentialing requirements.
