Position Summary
The Quality Control Assistant plays a crucial role in the evaluation and inspection of potato samples to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather plant samples from agricultural fields and storage facilities.
- Assess raw and finished product samples based on company quality criteria.
- Input quality assessment data into the database.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
- Experience in quality control, sampling, and laboratory processes.
- Familiarity with vegetables, particularly potatoes, or similar crops.
- Proficient in using computers and general software applications.
- Previous experience in grading potatoes is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a dependable work ethic.
- Valid operator's license is required.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Capable of bending, walking, and working in various weather conditions.
- Frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons of harvest, planting, and shipping.
