We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Power Consultant to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting clients in assessing renewable generation assets and performing a broad range of studies and consulting services to help clients make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct site selection and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects
- Provide Owner's Engineer support and independent engineering assessments
- Analyze life-cycle costs and develop technical assumptions regarding capital costs, operation and maintenance costs, performance estimates, and economic assumptions and forecasts
- Conduct technical and business-related risk assessments and develop detailed financial analysis using computer-based software
- Develop technical reports and presentations summarizing results of analysis
- Assist project managers in business development activities, including proposal development and client relationships
- Mentor and train other employees on technical and business aspects of projects and the industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program or related degree and 3 years of experience, or Master's Degree in Engineering or Business and 2 years of experience
- Prior experience associated with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting
- Experience with development, design, and construction of renewable generation facilities, specifically focusing on wind and/or solar generation, and of electric utility systems and their operation
- Ability to execute various renewable energy studies and knowledge in standard engineering, construction, and operation techniques, principles, and procedures associated with renewable power generation facilities
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
