RN Care Specialist

Carilion Clinic is seeking a skilled RN to join our Cardiovascular Institute team. As a RN Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and management of acute and chronic heart failure and other CVI and medical conditions.
This 26-bed telemetry PCU is part of our Cardiovascular Institute, where you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an RN program within 15 months of hire.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct age-specific admission and ongoing assessments to develop a personalized plan of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patient, and family to develop, implement, and evaluate an interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer treatments and medications accurately and document using electronic medical records.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing or an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
- Obtain CPR and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
- Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC) and successful completion of orientation and competency requirements.
