Job Title: Quality Management System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Management System Engineer to join our team at Hitachi ASTEMO Americas, Inc. in Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and sustaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and business needs across the SDV Platform Functional Division. This includes regulating, controlling, and improving the quality of all processes throughout Software QA Group and the final released software product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a robust QMS framework that aligns with SDV Functional Division requirements and integrates seamlessly with operational procedures.
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, introducing new processes and procedures where appropriate.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in standards, regulations, and updates to quality standards and requirements.
  • Conduct regular internal and process audits of the QMS, facilitating and supporting audits conducted by third parties and certification bodies.
  • Ensure all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy customer, business, and audit requirements, managing the document control process and database.
  • Develop and maintain practices to ensure all internal systems and supporting procedures are reviewed and revised as necessary to meet the needs of the company and external certification bodies.
  • Manage audit non-conformity database and ensure timely resolution of any non-conformities, developing strategies to prevent recurrence of issues and enhance the overall quality of processes.
  • Develop key metrics and report on the performance of the QMS to top management and other stakeholders, driving continuous improvement initiatives based on audit results, feedback from stakeholders, and analysis of performance data.
Requirements:
  • Proven ability to make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work environment.
  • Interacts with various levels of associates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization needed.
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter personality.
  • Strong abilities in auditing of systems and procedures.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5-7 years applicable experience in automotive.

Working Conditions:
  • Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time, with occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed, with occasional need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development.
