Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

This role involves skilled work focused on the management and upkeep of public green spaces, specifically ornamental and shade trees within the city limits. Responsibilities may include monitoring tree health and implementing treatments to ensure the safety and vitality of city trees. Key tasks may encompass:

  • Pruning and trimming
  • Tree planting and transplanting
  • Spraying and pest management
  • Tree removal and disease prevention

WORK NATURE

The individual in this position will assist in the planning and execution of comprehensive programs aimed at conserving and protecting the city's tree resources. This includes enforcing local tree ordinances related to tree maintenance and protection, as well as developing strategies for tree planting initiatives. The role also entails supervising a small team responsible for various tree care tasks, including trimming and removal operations. General oversight will be provided by the Building Maintenance Operations Manager or their designee, who will outline the overall objectives but not the specific methods to be employed. Supervision may extend to team members such as Tree Trimmers, Groundskeepers, General Laborers, and Crew Leaders in tree trimming activities.
