As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team at Penumbra, you will be responsible for solving complex technical problems and implementing innovative solutions to improve production processes. Your expertise in manufacturing technology and engineering principles will enable you to work effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement adaptations to the production line and quality systems.

  • Solve complex technical problems and implement innovative solutions to improve production processes.
  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis and recommend vetted solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Communicate complex technical issues and solutions effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Approach problems from a detail-oriented perspective, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of your work.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase yield and optimize production efficiency.
  • Design and implement new fixtures and equipment to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Test and validate processes, equipment, and materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Author and implement protocols for testing and validation, and write reports and make recommendations based on test results.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering projects and activities to ensure timely completion and quality results.
  • Develop and maintain product and process documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven work history of growing within an organization, learning its systems, and showing initiative.
  • Proven track record of solving problems creatively and effectively.
  • Medical device experience and knowledge of FDA regulations, lean manufacturing, and materials and manufacturing processes are strongly preferred.

Working Conditions

  • General office environment with occasional business travel.
  • Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required include the ability to read, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
