Job Summary:

The RN Educator/Nurse Instructor is a key member of the CCOR team, responsible for overseeing and managing all training relevant to CCOR's field staff. This is a part-time position, Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review curriculum relevant to CCOR's field staff, ensuring it is up-to-date and effective.
  • Communicate recommended changes to curriculum or policies and procedures to the Education Manager for approval.
  • Deliver training to field staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Manage monthly Training Calendars, scheduling classes, cancelling or adding sessions as needed, and communicating changes to all departments.
  • Ensure all trainees complete required training documents and audit them prior to submission to HR or storage in Education files.
  • Adhere to all timeframes and policies and procedures when submitting training documents.
  • Ensure all completed training documents are submitted to the correct department or individual.
  • Understand and have knowledge of all NYS PCATP and HHATP guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure the security of all testing materials.
  • Enter information into HCR within required timeframes.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and current RN certificate.
  • Preferred experience in working with NYSDOH programs and understanding and knowledge of PCA and HHA training programs.
  • Preferred two (2) years experience in home health care.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively in a large group setting.
  • Preferred experience in preparing Power Point presentations.
  • Ability to research and develop new/relevant home care topics.
  • Ability to make decisions with limited support.
  • Ability to manage staff in a positive and constructive way.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, pull, climb, reach, and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities.
  • Pass a physical examination and immunization requirements after being offered employment and complete a health assessment annually, thereafter, including being fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and to have received any booster or supplemental dose as recommended by the CDC, absent receipt of a medical exemption.
  • Possess a current, valid New York State driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Completion of CCOR's orientation program.

  • May be exposed to infectious or communicable disease.
