Electrical & Instrumentation Technician Job Description

Calgon Carbon Corporation is seeking a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our team at our US - Big Sandy Plant location. As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical machinery up to 480V, 3-phase devices and wiring.
  • Troubleshoot and re-set breakers in the 12,470 volt substation and 69,000 volt substation.
  • Test, replace, and repair malfunctioning equipment, such as transformers, motors, control components, lighting fixtures, and instrumentation using test equipment and PLC interfaces.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to manufacturing equipment as needed.
  • Replace conduit and wire using hand tools and power tools.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Associates degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • 3-5 years Industrial electrician or technical school is required.
  • 5-7 years of industrial electrician or technical school is preferred.
