Available Shifts: Monday - Friday; 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Key Responsibilities of Licensed Medication Technician:

  • Carry out resident care duties in a manner that prioritizes their safety and comfort, adhering to Company Healthcare Clinical Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in compliance with state and federal guidelines and center policies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the "five rights" of medication administration.
  • Document all medications administered to residents based on their individual charts.
  • Notify appropriate licensed staff when a resident expresses discomfort.
  • May be responsible for taking and recording residents' vital signs as assigned or required by specific medications.
  • Accurately record the administration of medications and/or treatments, utilizing the computer system for resident information as necessary.
  • Respond to resident call lights, anticipate their needs, and conduct rounds to assigned residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse or charge nurse on duty.
  • Monitor and report any reactions or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse during the shift.
  • Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that enhances resident safety and minimizes the risk of medical errors.
  • Support and uphold a culture of safety and quality.
  • Administer PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and center policies.
  • Report and, when appropriate, document any changes in residents' conditions or behaviors and any unusual incidents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Licensed Medication Technician:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a state-issued examination.
  • Valid certification as a Medication Technician with an active CNA in the state of Oklahoma is required.
  • Preferred experience of six months in a long-term care setting.
  • Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
  • Ability to respond decisively and swiftly in emergency situations.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, their families, and facility staff.
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
