Rural Mail Courier

As a Rural Carrier Associate with the US Postal Service, you will play a vital role in delivering mail and packages to customers along a prescribed rural route. Your duties will include case, deliver, and collect mail using a vehicle; provide customers on the route with a variety of services such as package delivery, money collection, and address updates; sort mail in delivery sequence for the assigned route; receive and sign for accountable mail; load mail in vehicle; deliver mail to customers along a prescribed route and on a regular schedule by a vehicle; collect monies and receipt for accountable mail; pick up mail from roadside boxes; return mail collected, undelivered mail, and submit monies and receipts to post office; prepare mail for forwarding and maintain records of change of address information.

Your daily trip report and maintaining a list of the customers on the route are essential tasks that require attention to detail and organizational skills. You will also be responsible for conducting special surveys when required and providing for mail security at all times.
