Job Summary
Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents within a warm and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the Resident Care Director (RCD) regarding medication administration, questions, concerns, and discrepancies.
- Notify the RCD of any significant changes in a resident's mental or physical status.
- Document supervision of self-administration in the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Notify the RCD of the administration of prn (as needed) medications.
- Document and notify the RCD of prn medications and their effects.
- Recognize and assist in preventing elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Requirements
- State Medication Technician License and demonstrated competency in accordance with the state-approved protocol in drug administration.
- Successful completion of medication technician competency review (as supervised by RN/RCD) quarterly.
- CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Completion of a state-approved training course in drug administration and receipt of a certificate of satisfactory completion.
- Evaluation of competency by the RCD each quarter.
- Current certification as a nursing assistant or successful completion of the certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker training program.
- High school education preferred.
