Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver Trainee to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a Truck Driver Trainee, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of food and food service products to customers across the country.

Responsibilities:

• Complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Ride-with and assist driver trainers in executing deliveries as required.
• FOLLOW all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Report safety hazards immediately and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedules.
• Unload products from trailers, transport items into designated customer storage areas.
• Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisors about removing orders according to company policy.
• Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
• Collect money (cash or checks) where required.
• Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as needed.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in tractors, loading dock areas, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 1 year of service in good standing as outlined in the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, able to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card
• 0 - 12 months with a Valid CDL
• High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent
• Valid CDL A
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheelers, lift gates, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shifts.
