Job Title: Associate Director of Cybersecurity

Job Summary:

Louisiana State University is seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking cybersecurity professional to take on a leadership role in our Managed Service Provider (MSP) operation. As the Associate Director of Cybersecurity, this position will play a crucial role in the Security Operations Center as a Service (SOCaaS) and safeguarding LONI information assets by ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the cybersecurity service strategy for LONI's SOCaaS, aligning it with the unique needs and goals of its members.
  • Identify, assess, and manage cybersecurity risks associated with the SOCaaS offering and the internal cyberinfrastructure proactively implementing robust risk mitigation measures for the SOCaaS offering and the internal cyberinfrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, regulations, and other requirements to deliver the SOCaaS offering.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain tailored security policies, standards, and procedures for LONI's internal cyberinfrastructure and its services.
  • Manage an incident response plan and coordinate incident response efforts of LONI.
  • Oversee security audits, assessments, and compliance activities for LONI's SOCaaS.
  • Work with project management capabilities to oversee multiple implementation and operational projects of the SOCaaS offering.
  • Provide regular executive reports on LONI's SOCaaS offering.
  • Manage SLAs for LONI's SOCaaS.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience in leadership roles.
  • Profound knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, networking, and best practices.
  • Strong familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards around cybersecurity.
  • Exemplary communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinking abilities and effective decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, Information Technology, or in a related field.
  • Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISM, CISA).
  • Prior experience in the educational or critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience in managing and delivering cybersecurity managed services.
