The Senior Financial Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering financial planning, analysis, and reporting to leadership for the Heart Failure (HF) business unit. This position involves conducting thorough analyses and reviews of operational performance. Responsibilities include supporting monthly financial closing processes, developing financial models, performing ad hoc analyses, and creating presentations that facilitate the quarterly Latest Best Estimate (LBE) forecasting cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial planning and analysis for the HF business unit, which may encompass budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss assessments, market modeling, sales evaluations, business development, gross margin analysis, capital expenditures, exchange rates, price-volume variances, headcount analysis, and other aspects of the comprehensive HF Profit and Loss statement.
  • Execute month-end closing activities, including detailed variance analysis against LBE, in close collaboration with geographical FP&A teams.
  • Design flexible and comprehensive tools and templates to facilitate the consolidation and timely completion of corporate schedules, while also developing system solutions and process enhancements that align with financial planning and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure an effective and efficient planning process for the division and its functional areas, coordinating a planning calendar with key deadlines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with key regions to consolidate month-end, LBE, and Plan analyses, providing commentary related to the respective financial cycles.
  • Prepare consolidated reports, presentations, and analyses for quarterly LBE cycles.
  • Engage in ad hoc analyses and reporting as requested by finance management.
  • Deliver routine reports to management, leveraging knowledge of financial systems and insights into the HF business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five to eight years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with EssBase (Dodeca) and Hyperion/Pillar budgeting software is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the principles, processes, and standards for comprehensive financial analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; strong expertise in relevant financial systems applications is essential. Experience with Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Capable of functioning both as a team member and an individual contributor in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Skilled in leveraging and engaging others to achieve project objectives. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information at various organizational levels.
