Our Transportation division is expanding across Oklahoma, offering comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for various projects, including airports, bridges, railways, roadways, and transit systems.

Your Opportunity

As the Transportation Operations Manager, you will utilize your expertise in Oklahoma to enhance our Transportation practice and oversee the design and execution of significant projects.

Your role will be crucial in expanding our current client and project portfolio while positioning the firm to secure new business opportunities in the Transportation sector. You will be responsible for managing projects through all phases, from initial planning to design, construction, and final delivery.

You will contribute to the development of a strategic growth plan for the Transportation sector in Oklahoma and collaborate with other Area Managers in the region to foster a cooperative work environment and achieve our clients' strategic growth objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Cultivating and sustaining strong relationships with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and other transportation clients to positively impact the communities we serve and develop our team through engaging and challenging projects.

• Crafting value-driven solutions to meet clients' needs and leading the successful pursuit of contracts for engineering and consulting services.

• Enhancing the company's visibility within the transportation sector through active participation in relevant business and professional organizations.

• Conducting strategic planning and executing plans for both operational and business development initiatives.

• Organizing, supervising, and directing the work of other transportation professionals.

• Managing resources, recruitment, career development, succession planning, coaching, and mentoring.

• Effectively negotiating, planning, monitoring, and delivering high-quality projects and consulting services.

• Reviewing engineered designs and plans to ensure compliance with applicable state, regional, and local agency standards.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Extensive experience with Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) projects and other transportation initiatives for clients in Oklahoma municipalities and counties.
  • Proficient in developing schedules and plans for complex projects using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
  • Skilled in creating impactful presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experienced in developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Demonstrated business development and marketing experience in Oklahoma is essential.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Oklahoma (or the ability to obtain within six months).
  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive engineering and project management experience.
The position primarily involves office work, with some travel required for client visits, document delivery, or meetings. Occasional site visits may be necessary, exposing you to outdoor elements and varying weather conditions.
