Job Title: CDL Class A Driver

The mission of TransForce is to provide innovative transportation solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL Class A driver to join our team. As a CDL Class A driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
  • Maintain logs of working hours of vehicle service and/or repair status, fuel receipts, trip mileage, etc., following applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers, or other appropriate means.
  • Set up and break down equipment in trailer.
  • Work a flexible schedule.
  • Conduct all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a current, class A commercial drivers' license.
  • Team player, collaborator, follows directions.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable.
  • Self-starter who can manage their own time, and prioritize duties and responsibilities, with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to solve problems and employ critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, laws, statutes, guidelines and strategies for operating commercial vehicles in Connecticut.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and individual services including, but not limited to stakeholder needs in meeting quality standards for services.
