Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Position Objective
The Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the testing and validation of software applications designed for deep ultraviolet (DUV) light sources and modules. This role encompasses participation in the complete software development lifecycle for testing tools, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment. The engineer will also validate the test equipment utilized for executing software applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulates comprehensive test plans to ensure the validation of LabVIEW software applications utilized in various testing environments.
- Designs and develops test cases and procedures to assess software functionality, executing these tests while maintaining a thorough and retrievable record of results.
- Engages in defining software requirements, analyzing them for completeness, and contributing to the development of operational use cases.
- Participates in design reviews to verify that requirements are accurately reflected in the design documentation.
- Evaluates test outcomes and provides detailed progress reports to engineering teams and management.
- Drafts test procedures necessary for the deployment of software applications to end-users.
- Assists in training users on the test software.
- Gathers data on issues and challenges, providing constructive feedback to development teams for effective root cause analysis.
- Configures necessary test equipment for executing software applications, including computers, data acquisition systems, and related components.
- Validates the functionality of new testing equipment.
- Assesses the electrical, software, optical, and electromagnetic aspects of laser systems and their modules to develop comprehensive test cases.
- Creates and delivers technical presentations during cross-functional review meetings.
- Produces engineering design documents, including block diagrams and flowcharts, while reviewing documentation from team members.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience in developing software test plans.
- Proven experience in defining, developing, and implementing software testing systems.
- Familiarity with software development processes, configuration management, and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, SVN).
- Experience in validating test equipment, including computers and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of communication interfaces such as RS232, RS422, Ethernet (TCP/IP, UDP, TCP), and SPI.
- Experience with LabVIEW applications is highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Programming skills in languages such as LabVIEW, Matlab, Python, or C++ are preferred but not required.
