Job Description

At Repeat Consultants, we are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Architect to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure network architectures that meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business analysts and engineers to define technical requirements and principles for network-related decisions.
  • Analyze and translate business, information, and technical requirements into architectural blueprints.
  • Identify network, systems, applications, and infrastructure components necessary to outline end-to-end network operations.
  • Work on multiple projects as a project leader or internal consultant, providing expert knowledge and counsel to others.
  • Participate in domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction.
  • Align architectural strategy with business requirements and assist in developing policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Design standard configurations and patterns, and participate in the Enterprise Architecture ecosystem-wide and domain's architecture Governance process.
  • Review exceptions and make recommendations to architectural standards at a domain/program level.
  • Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project/program level.
  • Align architectural requirements with technology strategy and assess near-term needs to establish business priorities.
  • Consult with project teams to ensure compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure, and services.
  • Support the development of software and data delivery platforms with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different business.
  • Coordinate architecture implementation and modification activities, and assist in post-implementation continuous-improvement efforts to enhance performance and provide increased functionality.
  • Ensure the conceptual completeness of the technical solution and work closely with project management to ensure alignment of plans with what is being delivered.
  • Analyze the current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
  • Identify and when necessary, propose variances to the architecture to accommodate project needs.
  • Perform ongoing architecture quality review activities relative to specific project/programs they are responsible for.
  • Provide strategic consultation to business partners, advising on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities.
  • Consult on projects and maintain knowledge of their progress, keeping technology and service managers aware of key customer issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.
  • Sell the architecture process, its outcome, and ongoing results, researching and evaluating emerging technology, industry, and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
  • Provide recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing, and deployment, identifying the tools and components used for a project from the approved enterprise toolset.
  • Advises on expenditures based on the size, scope, and cost of hardware and software components, assisting in developing business cases and recommending changes that impact the strategic direction.
  • Support change management initiatives, collaborating with project management on reporting project status, issues, risks, and benefits.
  • Meet with project leaders and Technology Leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with project goals and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in multiple technology areas required, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications network design or deployment required.
  • Advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, system engineering, and integration required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant domain experience (data, network, application, systems, etc.) preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks, with contributor experience in open source, user groups, and conferences preferred.
  • Solid experience working with Tier 1 and 2 carriers, NEMS, and MSO's, with knowledge of protocols and standards including Ethernet, SDN Technologies and Principles, OSPF, BGP, RTP, RTCP, Netconf-Yang.
  • Networking experience with Wan, Lan, Man, Data Center required, with experience with Linux required.
  • Working understanding of the Agile Development Process desired, with solid experience working with Tier 1 and 2 carriers, NEMS, and MSO's preferred.
  • Solution architecture experience in evolving Ethernet services a plus, with knowledge of new technologies including SDN/NFV preferred.
