We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodian III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex custodial work, including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining state hospital buildings and treatment units.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform highly complex custodial work, including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining state hospital buildings and treatment units.
- Provide housekeeping services in a clinical setting, including conducting inspections of buildings and equipment.
- Order and restock supplies and equipment, and provide backup to other custodians as needed.
- Work under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
- Knowledge of how to strip and wax floors.
- Knowledge of how to clean and disinfect restrooms and shower stalls.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
- Skills in the use of custodial materials and chemicals, and in the operation of custodial equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to stay on task and complete work timely.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
- Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and patients.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and will be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
