Role Summary:

The Senior Interventional Vascular Technologist plays a critical role in assisting healthcare providers with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular and non-vascular interventions, including procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis. This position requires the use of advanced fluoroscopic technology to obtain images of vascular structures and internal anatomy for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in positioning techniques and ensure safe and effective use of equipment.
  • Maintain constant mental focus during all procedures.
  • Adhere to AORN sterile techniques at all times. The technologist must possess comprehensive knowledge of various catheters, balloons, guidewires, drains, ports, coils, stents, and embolization devices utilized in typical interventional procedures.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Interventional, and Neuro Interventional techniques.
  • Foster professional and collaborative relationships in alignment with Trinity Health's guiding principles and support the organization's mission and values.
  • Maintain current certifications in CPR/ACLS, Maryland State License, and ARRT certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography.
  • Complete annual mandatory training, competency assessments, and other departmental documentation as required.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and assist in the orientation of new staff and radiology students.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including on-call responsibilities, patient transport, room cleaning, supply stocking, and peer review.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Vascular Interventional Radiography or equivalent (preferred).
  • ARRT Certification.
  • Licensed in the State of Maryland.
  • Current American Heart Association - CPR/ACLS Certification.
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a progressive acute care hospital setting performing Interventional Radiology, Neuro, and Vascular procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
