Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at the YWCA of Lubbock. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children with special needs in our childcare programs.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist will work closely with individual students, families, and YWCA personnel to provide personalized support and services. Your expertise will help children with physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose students with delays in fine motor or sensory skills and adaptive functioning.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and teachers on occupational therapy strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with children at their level of understanding.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment to facilitate daily activities.
  • Monitor progress, evaluate results, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Document service delivery and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with staff and outside agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists when necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Relevant license and certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High levels of patience and tolerance when working with children.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to diverse needs and challenges.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to relate well with various populations.
Work Environment
