Position Overview:

The Injection Molding Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the injection molding department's performance across multiple shifts at two nearby facilities. This role is essential for ensuring adherence to established procedures, policies, and regulations to guarantee the highest quality of components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance of the Injection Molding Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all departmental procedures and policies by personnel.
  • Facilitate comprehensive training for employees and maintain accurate training records.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Plan and schedule workflow, operators, and machine time to meet production goals.
  • Foster effective communication across departments and shifts.
  • Collaborate with all organizational levels to address manufacturing and quality concerns while identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Verify that all components and orders align with specific work instructions.
  • Perform inspections on components, including first and last articles and random checks to maintain quality standards.
  • Assist in the seamless transition of technology and components from Engineering to Production.
  • Support the assessment, acquisition, and implementation of new machinery.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed and documented appropriately.
  • Enhance existing preventative maintenance protocols.
  • Establish productivity benchmarks and monitor performance metrics.
  • Develop, analyze, and report on key performance indicators, including scrap rates, utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage departmental budgets effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in injection molding processes (scientific, decoupled, liquid silicone, etc.).
  • Proven track record in setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining molding machinery and processes.
  • A minimum of three years of management experience in an injection molding environment, preferably ISO certified.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and proficient in MS Office applications.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering schematics in English.
  • Effective communication skills in English.

Mathematical Skills: Competence in applying basic mathematical concepts.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Capability to resolve practical issues and interpret various forms of instructions.
  • Ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Mental: Must effectively communicate with colleagues, analyze numerical data, interpret written materials, and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Physical: Ability to hear and communicate verbally, sit for extended periods, and handle small components with precision.
  • Technical: Experience with Scientific/Decoupled injection molding is essential.

Equipment Utilization: Proficient in using various tools and machinery, including pneumatic gauges, digital calipers, injection molding machines, and temperature controllers.
