Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Student Health Services team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care, develop and implement healthcare programs, and collaborate with colleagues to promote student health and wellness.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including routine check-ups, health screenings, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
- Develop and implement healthcare programs to promote student health and wellness, including health education, disease prevention, and health promotion initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of healthcare services, including referrals to specialty care and coordination of care with other healthcare providers.
- Supervise and mentor students, faculty, and staff in healthcare settings, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest healthcare trends, research, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and healthcare services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Engage with the university community, promoting student health and wellness through outreach, education, and advocacy.
- Master's degree in nursing with clinical training as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State and national certification in a relevant population focus area.
- Minimum 2-5 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in emergency medicine, urgent care, or primary care.
- Strong understanding of university individual, community, and public health issues, as well as knowledge of local and national trends and best practices in primary healthcare.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team leader and member.
- Proficiency in electronic health systems and ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
- Licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Adult Nurse Practitioner to facilitate provision of services for all students.
- Experience with telehealth and electronic health systems.
