About the Role:

Mechanics Bank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Universal Banker to join our team at our Danville Branch. As a key member of our branch team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and maintaining compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Bank and its products and services with pride and enthusiasm, sensing and responding to customer needs.
  • Provide comprehensive deposit services to individuals, fiduciary, and small businesses, promoting the full range of deposit and lending products and services that best meet the client's needs.
  • Receive, process, and close consumer loan and small business loan applications, reviewing loan packages for required documentation and clarifying qualifications, rates, terms, and conditions to customers.
  • Assist customers with account maintenance, adoption of digital banking channels, and other complex account issues, deepening relationships and resolving concerns presented by clients.
  • Provide teller line support and perform routine teller transactions as needed, maintaining and balancing a cash supply for transactions performed.
  • Review client transactions for red flags and fraudulent items, maintaining awareness of current criminal scams used against banking clients and preventing clients from becoming victims of fraud.
  • Maintain compliance with established internal operational standards and Federal and State regulations to protect the interest of the Bank and customers, reviewing the work of others for compliance.
  • May lead and direct the activities of Customer Service Representatives and other Universal Bankers.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years bank operations and sales experience required.
  • Notary license preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to make decisions and review and approve other employee decisions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Bank deposit products and services.
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank's standard loan products.
  • Knowledge of small business and consumer credit principles and practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of alternative Bank services and products and vendor provided products.
  • Ability to persuade, including the value and benefits of using the Bank's services and products.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State banking regulations.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $28.00 hourly. Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
