Position Overview

The Lead Culinary Director is tasked with overseeing kitchen staff and ensuring the smooth operation of culinary activities. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities


• Mentor and manage kitchen staff effectively.

• Assess food requirements and manage procurement processes.

• Create and refine recipes while standardizing production methods to guarantee consistent quality.

• Develop presentation techniques and uphold quality benchmarks.

• Design and cost menus.

• Oversee equipment functionality and maintenance.

• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.

• Engage in cooking tasks as needed, limited to 20% of the time.

• Organize special catering events and provide culinary training or demonstrations.

• Directly manage kitchen personnel, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments.

Qualifications


• Minimum of 8 years in culinary management and industry experience.

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.

• Experience in managing food and labor costs, menu development, and culinary team leadership is preferred.

• Familiarity with P&L accountability and contract-managed services is advantageous.
