McLaren Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a critical role in helping patients improve their health and maintain good health.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients' overall health, with a focus on cardiovascular function and metabolism.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures, such as exercise stress tests, to assess patients' health.
- Develop personalized exercise prescriptions to increase physical fitness, strength, endurance, and flexibility.
- Design customized exercise programs to meet patients' healthcare needs and athletic performance goals.
- Administer exercise prescriptions to improve mobility and flexibility, hasten recovery from injury, and help patients live with disabilities.
- Advise patients on nutrition and ongoing exercise regimens, and may teach classes and conduct research.
- Provide high-quality, personalized, and evidence-based care and proven interventions.
- Evaluate the results of exercise programs by observing, noting, and evaluating patients' progress, and recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
- Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science or physiology.
- BLS certification.
- Preferred: Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP). Master's degree.
