About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our Operations and Maintenance team in the Facilities Management Department at Maricopa County. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality work and providing exceptional customer service to our customers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Remove, replace, and repair plumbing fixtures and systems, including toilets, faucets, valves, and meters.
  • Repair sewer lines, grease traps, and lead cast iron joints.
  • Safely operate sewer machines and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Operate computer and handheld devices for time management, work order assignments, and inventory management.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours.
Working Conditions
  • The position requires lifting/deadlifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, or pulling up to 100 pounds, and navigating through equipment rooms, on building rooftops, and in restrictive areas.
  • The job involves working in various environments, including adult and juvenile detention facilities, medical facilities, and courts.
Requirements
  • Three years of journey-level commercial plumbing experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in the plumbing field may substitute for one year of the experience requirement.
  • Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license and have an acceptable driving record by the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of experience within a large commercial, industrial, or institutional environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and selected software programs, including Maximo.
