Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Monitor Interstate to join our team at the Virginia Department of Transportation. As a Contract Monitor Interstate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of Virginia's highways and interstates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract requirements and VDOT standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess contractor work and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Review and approve contractor reports and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with VDOT staff and contractors to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve contractor performance and reduce costs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in highway maintenance, construction, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of VDOT standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
