We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Asphalt Paving team at CRH. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as paving screeds and rollers to ensure high-quality asphalt paving results.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Equipment Safely and Efficiently: Utilize equipment within its designed parameters to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Asphalt Paving Operations: Operate asphalt paver and/or screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications, as instructed by crew superintendent to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met.
- Compaction and Smoothing: Responsible for proper compaction and smoothing of asphalt.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
- Teamwork: Guide and direct dump trucks while backing up to machine hopper when operating paver, and assist labor crew including shoveling, raking and compacting of asphalt materials.
- Experience: Demonstrated construction, asphalt paving, or related experience required.
- Qualifications: Must have a current and valid driver's license, ability to read and comprehend blueprints, site specifications, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Physical Demands: Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration, and frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
