The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a highly skilled Utilities Plant Operations Supervisor to oversee the operation of our boiler plant. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in industrial boiler operations, maintenance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and operate the boiler plant, ensuring a smooth and constant flow of steam to the campus.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on the boiler plant and related systems.
- Monitor and test boiler water, feedwater, and condensate to prevent damage to equipment.
- Operate and maintain hot water satellite boilers located in various campus buildings.
- Train and supervise plant operators on all phases of operation and maintenance.
- High School Diploma or equivalency and four (4) years of experience in applicable utility operations, of which one (1) year is supervisory.
- Certifications may be required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Prior experience with industrial boilers.
- Experience with computers, plumbing, electrical, and control wiring.
This position is a mandatory essential position, as defined in the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy. The work schedule is 10:45pm - 7:00am, Sunday through Thursday, with 12 months of work per year.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $47,357 - $51,844. The University of North Carolina at Greensboro offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
