Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Custodian I to join our team at Petaluma City Schools. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of our school buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the custodial department, including supervising staff and managing budgets.
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning and maintenance schedules to ensure a healthy and safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to address facility-related issues and concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and school district policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in custodial or facilities management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position. The successful candidate will be required to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
