Job Title: Certified Substance Abuse Counselor II

Amity Foundation is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor II at our in-prison facilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic community and enhance your training and experience in the field.

About the Position:

As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor II, you will support the community by delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP). Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering treatment programming services to participants and conducting group and/or individual sessions.
  • Effectively implementing scheduled program curriculum and leading face-to-face group and individual meetings.
  • Engaging participants daily, reinforcing group rules and expectations for participation and completion.
  • Working directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educating them about supportive networks as they return to the community.
  • Reviewing treatment plans, evaluating and recording treatment progress, and maintaining accurate and timely participant records.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree or above in a social service-related field and licensure by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or registration with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
  • Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred).
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by association with substance abuse treatment participants.
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior to maintain professional standards and safeguard participant confidentiality.
