The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in assisting healthcare providers and nurses with patient care, ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs
- Collect and process specimens, and perform CLIA-waived tests
- Administer medications, prepare patients for examinations and procedures, and maintain accurate medical records
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members
- Perform phlebotomy, electrocardiography, and respiratory testing, and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Assist with scheduling appointments, referrals, and laboratory tests
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR certification and successful completion of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) program
- Two years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and maintain a high level of organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
The Certified Medical Assistant will work in a clinical setting, exposed to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially hazardous materials. The ability to stand for extended periods, hand/eye coordination, and manual dexterity are essential for this role.
