Key Responsibilities- Perform patient screening procedures, including assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting, and taking blood pressure and pulse.
- Take digital x-rays and remove calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth.
- Apply preventive materials to the teeth, such as sealants and fluorides.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health, including tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
- Counsel patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health.
- Make impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs).
- Perform documentation and office management activities.
- Assist the lead RDA with any of the RDA's allowable duties when needed.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Must hold an active California State Registered Dental Hygienist license.
- Experience in Epic Electronic Health Records is preferred.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Excellent clinical and communication skills.
- Bilingual skills (any language) are a plus.
- Proficient in taking digital x-rays.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
