Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

At Connecticut Children's, we are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team. As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to children from birth through adolescence.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and treat well newborns and pediatric observation patients and inpatients on the pediatric inpatient unit.
- Provide consultative services in the Emergency Department and work collaboratively with Primary Care Providers to ensure safe patient handoffs.
- Perform and/or order clinically appropriate procedures, including medical histories, diagnostic lab tests, and x-ray results.
- Prescribe clinically appropriate medication and treatment for each patient and refer patients to other physicians and healthcare providers as necessary.
- Keep and maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records relating to all professional services provided.
- Use and promote evidence-based clinical practice and participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital.
- Participate in teaching and learning in an integrated academic model and practice preventive health care through patient and family education and child health advocacy.
- Participate in peer review, development, and consultation, and participate in special programs and services as assigned.
- Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
- Licensed and registered, and in good standing under the laws of the State of Connecticut and New York.
- Active and Unrestricted D.E.A. Certificate.
- PALS, NRP certifications required; ACLS, BLS preferred.
