Position Overview

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist operates at a proficient level, executing radiographic tasks that do not necessitate continuous oversight. This role encompasses a diverse range of technical procedures, demanding independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to utilize ionizing radiation for generating diagnostic images. The specialist is accountable for specific procedural areas as needed and is trained in an accredited Radiology Technology program, equipped to provide patient care across all age demographics from infants to seniors.

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist reports directly to the Chief Technologist of Radiology.

Key Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conducts diagnostic radiographic procedures and manages HIS/RIS functions related to Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Ensures the safety of patients, colleagues, and self while effectively communicating details regarding patient examinations, schedules, conditions, and equipment to relevant personnel.
  • Maintains professional relationships within and between departments, ensuring clear communication.
  • Conserves supplies and operates radiographic machinery and processors, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Assists Radiologists with procedures as necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Education

a.) High school diploma or equivalent.

b.) Completion of formal training in radiologic technology from an accredited institution is preferred.

c.) Candidates must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technology exam within one year of graduating from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

d.) Second-year students must work under supervision until graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
